ABOUT US

The Windmills Girls Fastpitch Organization was established in 1989 in Oak Park, Illinois. Since its inception, the goals of the organization have been:

To train girls to be elite softball players, capable of earning college scholarships
To teach girls the principals of dedication, perseverance and teamwork
To learn and advance the most successful training techniques to our coaches and players
To encourage girls to participate in community service

Ben Stone, 12U coach — and fearless leader as president of the board — told his team that if they won all three pool games today in the USSSA Pink Out Freeze Out Tournament, he’d jump in Bangs Lake in Wauconda. And he’s a man of his word! 💦

Now the big question is… what will he do if they win the whole tournament? 👀🥎

The 11U Windmills showed their skills on their way to 2nd place in their first fall tournament of the year in Elgin, falling just short in a thrilling 12-13 final last weekend! 🥎💙 Every player made huge contributions — from big bats to big plays to tremendous pitching — and they were so much fun to watch. Way to go, Windmills!

The Windmills collected thousands of pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House, and today we proudly delivered them! 💙🥎 As a proud partner, Centre Physical Therapy helped collect tabs and support this effort. 🎓💙🥎 Congratulations to Sofia Ayala! 🥎💙🎓

A 5-year Windmill and 2-year Varsity starter for OPRF, Sofia helped lead her team to an incredible 3rd place finish in the IHSA 4A State Tournament—highlighted by her clutch, game-tying hit in the Super-Sectional with the season on the line.

Off the field, Sofia was named an OPRF Scholarship Cup winner (valedictorian) and will be heading to the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor to study Information Science.

We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished, Sofia—and can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you. We will be cheering you on!
